Freeze the action with up to 40 frames per second silent continuous shooting

Shoot decisive moments with high speed and no shutter noise with up to 40 frames per second (fps) with the electronic shutter- double compared to 20fps in the original EOS R6. This is particularly handy for situations where you want to stay quiet and unnoticed such as photographing wildlife, theatre, or sports. For the first time among full-frame EOS camera, the EOS R6 Mark II is equipped with RAW burst mode 30fps and by turning on the pre-shooting function, can start shooting up to 0.5 second even before you have pressed the shutter button. Never miss a moment such as a change in facial expression, animal movement or aeroplane landing due to a time delay in shutter release.

Advanced subject tracking

The EOS R6 Mark II is also equipped with high performance subject tracking with horse, train and aeroplane added to the already extensive list.  Whether you’re shooting stills or video, the camera can detect and track a variety of subjects as they move through the frame freeing you to focus on the composition.

4K 60p (6K) oversampling & HD 180p movie recording

The EOS R6 Mark II allows you to capture up to 4K 60p (6K oversampling) video equivalent to the professional EOS R3 – compared to 5.5K oversampling in the EOS R6 - for exceptional high-quality clips. Record Full HD 180p – compared for full HD 120p of the EOS R6. With higher recording speeds, create a cinematic effect with slow-motion allowing you to playback 1/6 times the speed.

Thanks to countermeasures against temperature rise when shooting movies, the 29 min and 59 second recording time in the original EOS R6 has been removed, allowing continuous shooting of up to 6 hours. As a guide, depending on movie image quality, continuously record 4K 60p for approximately 40min, Full HD 180p 60mins and 4K 30p without restriction.

Canon Log 3 and external device RAW movie recording

The EOS R6 Mark II can record diverse types of movies for various applications and post-productions for step-up users to high amateurs and professionals, as well as post-processes. Shoot in Canon Log 3 or RAW to an external device, giving you ample flexibility for post-edit.

Movie pre-recording

For the first time in mirrorless EOS cameras and traditionally featured in Cinema EOS, the EOS R6 Mark II has a pre-recording function that can capture a scene from 5 seconds or 3 seconds before the user’s recording cue. This camera realises new shooting methods, such as recording a scene that comes unexpectedly or stopping recording while waiting for a change that occurs in the scene. This reduces production of unnecessary movie data, resulting in advantages such as saving data storage space and reducing your editing workload.
