Recycling Programs

Canon is involved in a number of unique recycling schemes that allow us to transform old products into brand new ones.
In 1990, Canon introduced the first toner recycling program of its kind in the world, with our own toner recycling plants in Europe, Japan, China and USA. Across Oceania, we support numerous recycling initiatives to promote recycling in the community, and make it easy for you or your business to recycle too.

Croxley Recycling
To help us actively achieve our environmental goals, Canon New Zealand has joined forces with Croxley Recycling Centre to develop a program to collect and recycle laser and inkjet cartridges.
Business customers, If you would like to see if you are eligible or would like to partake in this programme please call Customer Care on 0800 222 666. The Customer Care representative will ask you a few questions to ensure you meet the criteria to be issued with a Toner Recycle box. When your toner box is almost full, you will call Croxley Recycling Centre on the 0800 number on the box and they will issue you with a job number and arrange a courier to come out and collect the box or deliver a new empty box.
Alternatively, if you would like to drop your toner off at a local Canon Branch or at participating outlets, then Canon will ensure the recycling of this product. What can't be re-manufactured by Canon will be recycled. Everything from the plastics, aluminium, steel, toner powder and even the ink from inkjet cartridges is re-used or recycled.
