Firmware Version 1.0.4 incorporates the following fixes.

Fixes the following phenomena which may occur when the camera is used in combination with certain lens models (*) equipped with a stepping motor. 
*Affected lenses: EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM / EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM
1. The camera may freeze in rare instances if you try to shoot with a lens cap attached or meter a subject with low contrast in Live View (or Movie) shooting.
2. Fine focus adjustment may not be possible in Remote Live View on the EOS Utility software.
Fixes a phenomenon in which some SD cards are not recognized by the camera.
Corrects some misspellings displayed on the menu screen.
The version 1.0.4 firmware being released this time is for cameras with firmware version 1.0.1 or earlier. If your camera already has firmware version 1.0.4, you do not need to perform the firmware update.

When updating the firmware of your camera, please first go over the instructions thoroughly before you download the firmware.Firmware Version 1.0.2.0 is now available.

Firmware Version 1.0.2.0 incorporates the following fixes and improvements:

1) Increases the duration of movie shooting by 20% in cases where the optical zoom is used compared to cameras running Firmware Version 1.0.0.0 or Firmware Version 1.0.1.0 through a reduction in the power consumption of the optical zoom.

* Time under default camera settings, when normal operations are performed, such as shooting, pausing, turning the camera on and off, and zooming (Based on conditions established by Canon).

• Under some shooting conditions, the recording time may be shorter than mentioned above.

• Recording time with a fully charged battery.

2) Resolved an issue with cameras running firmware version 1.0.0.0, in which the low battery level warning is prematurely displayed while shooting in movie mode. With this new firmware version 1.0.2.0, the low battery level warning does not start flashing sooner than necessary.

Firmware Version 1.0.2.0 is for cameras with firmware Version 1.0.1.0 or Version 1.0.0.0. If the camera's firmware is already Version 1.0.2.0, it is not necessary to update the firmware. 
Please note that, once the camera is updated to the latest version, it cannot be restored to a previous version.

How to Identify Cameras that are eligible for the Firmware Update:

Please check the serial number on the bottom of the camera.
