EOS M Firmware Version 2.0.2

Now you can speed up your EOS M with the new Firmware Upgrade.

The EOS M is a quality camera that’s easy to play with, takes DSLR quality photos and is just the right size to take anywhere.

Firmware Version 2.0.2 incorporates the following fixes and improvements.

Increases focusing speed for One Shot AF by up to 2.3x faster*
Now supports the newly announced EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens**
Corrects errors in the Simplified Chinese, Hungarian, Traditional Chinese and Korean language menus.
Do I need Firmware Version 2.0.2?

Firmware Version 2.0.2 is for cameras with firmware Version 1.0.9 or earlier. If the camera's firmware is already Version 2.0.2, it is not necessary to update the firmware.

To check your camera’s firmware version, simply follow these steps:

Set your camera to Regular Shooting Mode. This is the camera symbol ( ) on the camera’s mode dial.
Ensure your camera is set to either Manual (M), Aperture Priority (Av), Shutter Priority (Tv) or Program (P) mode.
Push the Menu button.
Scroll across to the Menu option represented by the fourth spanner image.
Your firmware version will display in this list.

To begin downloading the firmware folder, you will need to tick the box indicating that you have read and understood the information and that you wish to download the firmware.

The download folder contains the firmware and instructions on the firmware update procedure (a PDF file in 5 languages: Japanese, English, French, Spanish and Simplified Chinese). The English file will contain the letters “en”. Please carefully read through the firmware update procedure before starting firmware update operations.

**The firmware upgrade corrects a rare phenomenon that causes the EOS M controls to become unresponsive when the new EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens is used.
