EOS 7D Firmware Version 2.0.5

Firmware Version 2.0.5 is for cameras with Firmware Version 2.0.3.

Changes

Firmware Version 2.0.5 fixes the following phenomenon:

1. When Wireless File Transmitter WFT-E5 (A/B/C/D)* is used and the camera is connected to a computer using a USB device, there are instances where, once the camera detects the WFT-E5, image files cannot be transferred using the FTP protocol.

* In compliance with the law regarding electro-magnetic waves in each region, there are four types of WFT-E5 (Types A, B, C, and D) for each of the respective target regions.

Firmware Version 2.05 is for cameras with Firmware Version 2.0.3. If the camera’s firmware is already Version 2.0.5, it is not necessary to update the firmware.

When updating the firmware of your camera, please first go over the instructions thoroughly before you download the firmware.

NOTE:

Once the camera is updated to version 2.0.5, it cannot be restored to a previous firmware version (version 1.0.7 to version 1.2.5).
If the camera has a previous firmware version such as version 1.0.7 to version 2.0.3 and you upgrade to Firmware version 2.0.5 the following settings will be initialized:
a) Date/Time setting

b) Lens peripheral illumination correction data registered to the camera

When upgrading your EOS 7D to the new Firmware Version 2.0.5, it is recommended that you upgrade your WFT-E5 (A/B/C/D) to the latest firmware Version 1.0.7, otherwise it cannot be used.
When upgrading your EOS 7D to the new Firmware Version 2.0.5, it is recommended that you use the latest applications:
*c) EOS Utility Version 2.11.4 or later

Digital Photo Professional Version 3.11.31 or later

(Supported OSes: Windows XP SP3/Vista SP2/7/7 SP1,Mac OS X v10.6/10.7)

(Supported OSes: Windows XP SP3/Vista SP2/7/7 SP1,Mac OS X v10.6/10.7)

The system requirements for the latest applications may be different for the applications that have already been installed to your computer. For information on the system requirements, please go to our Web site.

*c). Some applications of previous versions do not support functions that are added by the new firmware. Please also note that EOS Utility needs to be updated to the latest version before it can be used with the updated EOS 7D camera. You can download the latest applications from our Web site.
