Solution
You can use commercially available SDHC (SD high capacity) memory cards and SD memory cards with this camcorder. However, depending on its Speed Class, you may not be able to record movies on the memory card. Refer to the table below.
We recommend using memory cards with a Speed Class 4 or 6.
Memory card | Capacity | SD Speed Class | Recording movies |
SD memory cards | 64 MB or less | Not applicable | No |
128 MB or more | Not listed | Yes (*1) (*2) | |
Class 2 | Yes (*1) | ||
Class 4 / Class 6 | Yes | ||
SDHC memory cards (*3) | Over 2 GB | Class 2 | Yes (*1) |
Class 4 / Class 6 | Yes | ||
Class 10 | Yes (*1) (*3) |
*1 : Movies cannot be recorded when the recording mode is set to MXP (24 Mbps) or FXP (17 Mbps).
*2 : Depending on the memory card used, it may not be possible to record movies.
*3 : Because the Speed Class 10 became standardized after camcorders were released, movies cannot be recorded on the Class 10 SDHC cards when the recording mode is set to MXP or FXP.
Caution
About the SD Speed Class:
