Can a lens hood be used with the camera? (PowerShot G3 X)

Lens Hood [LH-DC60] (sold separately) can be used with the camera.

To attach a hood, you will need Filter Adapter [FA-DC67B], which is included with the lens hood.

Lens Hood [LH-DC60] Prevents extraneous light outside the angle of view from entering the lens and causing flares or ghosting, which reduce image quality. Filter Adapter [FA-DC67B] Adapter required when mounting a 67 mm filter.

Using the Lens Hood (Sold Separately)

For wide-angle shots of backlit subjects without using the flash, attach optional Lens Hood LH-DC100/Filter Adapter FA-DC67B to prevent light outside the angle of view from entering the lens. To attach a hood, you will need Filter Adapter FA-DC67B, which is included with the lens hood.

Caution

1. Make sure the camera is off.

2. Align the notches on the camera and the filter adapter and turn the adapter in the direction of the arrow until locked.

3. Turn the filter in the direction of the arrow to attach it to the camera

4. Align the lens hood mark () with the filter adapter mark (), and turn the lens hood in the direction of the arrow until it locks in place.

5. To attach the lens hood inverted (as shown) when the hood is not used, align the lens hood mark () with the filter adapter mark (), and turn the lens hood in the direction of the arrow until it locks in place.
