This enables you to achieve significant softness of outlines so that your subject really stands out.

The RF 85mm f/2 Macro IS STM is designed to work in conjunction with an EOS R series camera, with both the camera and the lens sharing data to reduce camera-shake blur. With up to 5 stops of Image Stabilization, it delivers impressively clear results when shooting handheld.
The RF 85mm f/2 Macro IS STM features a lens control ring for customisable control over shutter speed, ISO or exposure compensation. The easy-to-identify textured surface gives you tangible feedback to adjust while looking through the viewfinder and concentrating on your subject.

Thanks to Canon's BR optics (Blue Spectrum Refractive Optics), the RF 85mm f/1.2L USM DS lens helps capture beautiful detailed photos with minimal chromatic aberration, while also providing stunning resolution. Excellent rendering performance can be achieved from the maximum aperture. The lens has also been carefully crafted with weather-sealing and fluorine coatings on the front and rear elements to guard against waterdrops and dust, helping keep this powerful lens safeguarded wherever you go.
This lens has a large aperture due to f/1.2 and the effect of DS coating, which is applied to the two surfaces and achieves significant bokeh with soft outlines. Enabling you to achieve photos with smooth and beautiful bokeh expression.

1. In order to use this lens with the EOS R or EOS RP, a compatible version of firmware is required. Download the latest camera firmware and install it on your camera.
2. Since the transmittance of the lens periphery decreases due to the DS coating, brightness of the lens at maximum aperture is about 1 𝟏/𝟑 stops darker than f/1.2. By updating the camera to the latest firmware, exposure control in AE will be performed appropriately.
