  • Do I need to shoot exclusively on Canon gear to apply?

    We’d like our Canon Mentors to have experience shooting on our gear and be passionate about the amazing quality of our cameras. We don’t mind if you shoot on other gear from time to time - if this still sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
  • Do I need to be a full-time creative to apply?

    It’s important to us that our Mentors have lots of great knowledge to share. To be considered, you should be working professionally in your industry - whether in a full-time professional role or freelancing.
  • What kind of mentorship activities will I be involved in?

    Being a Canon Mentor involves running in-person and online events, engaging with our Discord community and helping us create content that educates and inspires others.
  • Can I be based anywhere in New Zealand?

    Absolutely! We’re looking for Mentors across the whole country so we can reach and support as many community members as possible.
  • What’s the application process like?

    For Filmmaking Mentors:
    We’re actively recruiting right now! Applications are open and will be reviewed from September to October. If you’re not selected this round, we’ll keep your details on file for future opportunities.

    For Other Creative Niches:
    While we’re not currently recruiting for other areas, we will be in the future. Submit your application now and we’ll be in touch when the right opportunity opens up.
  • Can I apply if I work across multiple creative disciplines?

    Yes! You’re welcome to apply for as many niches as you feel confident mentoring in.
