What is Aperture Priority AE?

The Basics:

Aperture Priority AE is an automatic exposure shooting mode on DSLR cameras, whereby the photographer manually selects the Aperture, with the camera automatically selecting the shutter speed. On Canon cameras, this is known as AV Mode.
