Deakin University Expands Print Capability, Maintains Profitability with Canon Printers & Media

A small, fully digital print shop tucked at the back of Deakin University’s Burwood campus is responsible for printing more than 6,500 jobs each year, usually within a 24-hour turnaround.

To maintain profitability and meet the demands of the university’s five campuses, the print shop partnered with Canon to install Océ VarioPrint 6250 and 2110 machines and 2 Canon ImagePress C700VP presses, all with inline finishing options, a range of digital binding and finishing equipment, and a Canon imagePROGRAF iPF8400 wide-format inkjet printer.

With a broad and growing range of production needs, the shop relies on Canon to deliver materials. It’s a ‘one stop shop’ arrangement that saves time and effort, and ensures all media is ‘fit for purpose’ and will run smoothly through the digital presses.
