Kids Count Wins Canon’s Get On Board Promotion, Investing Prize in Life-Changing Scholarships for Early Childhood Teachers
At Canon, we believe in recognising the people and organisations that make a real difference in their communities. That’s why, in early 2025, we launched our Get On Board promotion, giving customers the chance to win NZD$10,000 when they upgraded their Canon printer.
In a heartwarming ceremony in Auckland, Tony Phibbs, National Sales Manager, and Suzie Neilson, Education Specialist, proudly awarded the grand prize to Kids Count Limited, a Kiwi-owned early childcare centre dedicated to nurturing young minds.
Founded with a vision to ensure every child can reach their potential - regardless of their family circumstances - Kids Count Limited has become a beacon of hope across Aotearoa. At its heart is Mary McLeod, whose unwavering commitment to quality education and care has touched the lives of countless families.
Mary’s values deeply resonated with us at Canon. Her belief that education is the key to a child’s future mirrors our commitment to empowering communities through meaningful initiatives.
As part of the Get On Board promotion, Kids Count Limited received a $10,000 cash prize. In a generous and forward-thinking move, Mary chose to invest the prize into a scholarship so two of her team could complete their Early Childhood Education teacher training.
The recipients, Telsey Sanisitou and Adi Asenaca Dimuri, are exceptional non-qualified teachers whose life circumstances to date prevented them from pursuing advanced education. The scholarships are a life-changing opportunity - not only for them, but for the children they inspire.
“Words cannot fully express how grateful I am for this incredible opportunity and to be a recipient of this scholarship. I am honoured and appreciative of the support which will make a difference in my academic journey.”
Adi Asenaca Dimuri, Scholarship recipient at Kids Count Limited
“I am joyful and grateful. There are times when there are not enough words to describe the feeling of being chosen to receive an honorary gift. This scholarship will undoubtedly support my academic journey and inspire me to strive for excellence in all my endeavours. I am committed to achieving my goal and making the most of this opportunity to give back to those who have supported my efforts and have nurtured me to grow and progress.”
Telsey Sanisitou, Scholarship recipient at Kids Count Limited
Canon is proud to support initiatives that elevate educators and strengthen communities. The Get On Board promotion was designed to celebrate people who go above and beyond - Kids Count Limited exemplifies that spirit.
“I can’t express how delighted I was that Kids Count won this prize. They are such a worthy recipient, and Mary’s decision to support her staff highlights the heart of their mission. We’re excited to watch Adi and Telsey’s journey to becoming fully qualified ECE teachers.”
