Fashion photographer Georges Antoni achieves the impossible brief with Canon's new high-megapixel DSLR

24th February 2016
Announced today, the new 50.6 high-megapixel EOS 5DS R camera redefines what is possible. In highlighting the impressive functionality of the camera, Canon Australia has created a video telling the story of a challenging brief and how the camera overcomes the impossible – by combining filming flexibility with the high resolution the camera offers.

Advertising/Fashion photographer and Canon Master Georges Antoni was charged with the impossible photography brief: just 15 minutes to shoot a model suspended over the ocean by a crane, in low-light. The image would be required for a billboard-sized image and need to be cropped to size.

The video takes viewers through the initial briefing, shoot set-up, the behind the scenes shoot production (including the photographer and team, working with the model) and the final result. Viewers are privy to scenes of Georges directing the crew on positions, chatting to the model for final retouches and the model being strapped into the harness.

As a Canon Master, Georges is part of an elite group of master image makers acknowledged as the best of the best.

“I often see moments appear spontaneously and so it’s really important for me to be able to capture that fleeting expression or movement with precision,” says Georges Antoni.
