When sending facsimile transmissions using the one touch buttons, in very rare cases the machine may transmit to the corresponding one touch button under the one touch cover in error.
In the unlikely event this occurs, the fax number for the transmission is displayed on the control panel, at which time the incorrect destination (number) is evident.
Cause
The software that monitors the open / closed status of the one touch cover, may in very rare circumstances incorrectly select the incorrect one touch destination. This may occur if excessive force is applied to the one touch cover.
Detailed Explanation
When a One-touch key is used to select an addressee, in rare circumstances it is possible that a different addressee from the one intended is selected.
At this time, if the start button is pushed without visually confirming the fax number displayed on the control panel, the fax can be sent to an addressee stored in the corresponding one touch number as if the cover was sensed as being open.
As an example, the one touch “01” and “08” keys are located in the same position. If the one-touch cover is open, the “08” addressee is selected. If the one-touch cover is closed, the “01” addressee is selected.
Countermeasure
If the PANEL version printed in the User data list is 02.49 or earlier, then upgrading is strongly recommended.

Push [Report] key on the control panel.
Select “Print list” and push [OK] key.
Select “User data list” and push [OK] key.
Push [OK] key.
Select “Yes” with left arrow key and push [OK] key.
Confirm the version of PANEL in User data list.
The figure above shows the “PANEL” firmware version of the 02.04, therefore it is strongly recommended that the upgrade is performed as the PANEL version is prior to version 02.50.
