What is DPI?

The Basics:

DPI, or Dots Per Inch, is a measurement of unit that represents image resolution in printing. In short, it’s the number of dots that fit into an inch. It is sometimes confused as being a unit of measurement for image resolution, but it is in fact only for the purpose of calculating the resolution of an image when printed.
