When attached to a compatible camera (EOS R7), this lens allows you to capture 3D VR images. The large diameter mount of the RF lens and Canon’s optical technology allows us to create a lens that is compact, high quality, and capable of recording two images on a single sensor.
The Canon RF-S 3.9mm f/3.5 STM Dual Fisheye lens is easy to set up with your EOS R7. Simply attach it to your camera, set your focus and you're ready to go. This removes the need for multiple camera set ups and quick and easy installation in most environments.
When content captured by this lens is viewed using a Head Mounted Display (HMD), the two images captured by the left and right lenses are projected onto the left and right screens, presenting the image as if it were a 3D scene being viewed with naked eye.
The angle of view of 144° allows the user to shoot clear images without capturing other photographic equipment, such as tripods, gimbals and microphones in the shot. Canon VR Utility allows conversion of 144° angle viewing data to 180° VR images.
Along with the Canon RF 5.2mm f/2.8L Dual Fisheye lens, Canon’s EOS VR System also includes Canon VR Utility application and EOS VR Plug-in for Adobe® Premiere® Pro to make the image conversion process², from a dual circular fisheye image to a more recognisable side-by-side equirectangular 180° VR format, effortless.
A rear filter holder that can accommodate a screw-type ND filter (30.5mm). Use of an ND filter allows the user to shoot with a wide aperture even in full daylight. A commercially available gelatin filter, cut to the proper size, can be inserted in the rear filter holder.
