Dr Chris Brown joins Canon Australia

Joining the ranks of Australian personalities Steve Waugh, Lisa Wilkinson, and Guy Sebastian, Canon is thrilled to announce the appointment of beloved veterinarian, television personality and author, Dr Chris Brown, as an official brand ambassador. Sharing his love for animals with a passion that lies behind the lens, Dr Chris Brown will inspire and engage Australians with his journey in photography. 

“Besides being an esteemed veterinarian and highly-regarded TV personality, Chris is great with a camera and has an incredible dedication to capturing moments in new and creative ways,” says Jason McLean, Director – Consumer Imaging, Canon Australia. “No one sees it like Chris does; we’re thrilled to have him on board as a Canon Ambassador, where he can share this perspectives and skills.” 

Kicking off his ambassador role from 1 September 2015, Dr Chris Brown features as a judge for the Canon Light Awards – a monthly competition by photographers, for photographers – setting September’s brief as Pet Personalities. In line with his love for all creatures big and small, Dr Chris Brown invites participants to submit entries that capture their pets’ personalities in a way that almost shows what they are thinking, and brings to life their most special characteristics. 

“I’m lucky that I get to travel for work, so I do come across a lot of animals and try to photograph as many as possible,” says Dr Chris Brown. “Photography is my secret pleasure no one really knows about. Most people are used to seeing me in front of the lens but actually I’ve been behind the lens using Canon cameras since I was a kid. I use them every single day to document both animals and landscapes, so to be a Canon Ambassador is really exciting. I’m especially keen to see all the fantastic submissions for the Canon Light Awards this month, and invite everyone to take up the challenge to capture their pets’ personality and condense it into a frame!”
