Changing the Aspect Ratio

Solution

You can change the width to height ratio of an image.

Aspect Ratio
The same aspect ratio as widescreen HDTVs.
The same aspect ratio as 35mm film, used for printing out 5 x 7 in. or postcard sized images.
Native aspect ratio of the camera screen, also used for display on standard-definition televisions or similar display devices, or for printing images at 3.5 x 5-inch or A-series sizes.
Square aspect ratio.

Shooting modes in which aspect ratio cannot be changed, or in which limited aspect ratios are available

Caution

The aspect ratio cannot be changed in some shooting modes.
The position and shape of the operation buttons, screens displayed, and setting items may differ according to the model you use.

1. Press the ⋖Power⋗ button on the camera.


2. Press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button.


3. The following screen appears.

Press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to select [Still Image Aspect Ratio], then press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button.


4. The following screen appears.

Press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to select an aspect ratio of your choice, then press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button.


When the following shooting modes are selected, the aspect ratio cannot be changed, or limited aspect ratios are available.

... Cannot be set
... [4:3] or [16:9] can be selected
... Shooting mode is not available on this model
