Canon has announced that the upgrade to the movie-related firmware for the EOS 5D Mark II digital SLR camera will be available to users in mid-March 2010.
EOS 1D Mark IV Firmware Update Version 1.0.6
As a result of further enhancement, Canon has released a firmware update for the EOS-1D Mark IV digital SLR camera that further enhances the AF tracking performance.
Canon’s new EOS 1D Mark IV
The world’s first professional DSLR camera to offer FULL HD movie recording and performance to meet any challenge.
With this camera, Canon re-establishes the pro DSLR benchmark, combining speed, quality and durability. With features such as low-noise, high ISO sensitivity and FULL High Definition video recording, it caters to all pro requirements from press and sports reporting to studio work.
The EOS 1D Mark IV supersedes the EOS 1D Mark III and offers extreme high performance. It has shooting at speeds of 10 fps, increased ISO capabilities to an incredible range of 100-12800 (expandable to 50-102400) and an all new Auto Focus system.
Precise, low-noise images can be achieved using the low ISO speeds, a must for professionals producing large, detailed images in a studio environment. And the new 45-point AF system ensures images will always be crisp and clear, making it the perfect solution for sports photographers trying to get that winning shot at night-time sports matches.
World first from Canon
The EF 100MM F/2.8 L MACRO IS USM is the world's first mid-telephoto distance macro lens to include shift direction image stabilisation, allowing you to take life size shots without attachments.
This L-series lens has a high-function optical system with environmentally friendly, lead-free glass and the best picture quality in its class. By optimising lens positioning and coating, it provides maximum reduction of ghosting and flaring. It uses a circular aperture with nine blades to provide attractive blurred effects in macro areas. And with inner focusing, ring USM and optimised AF algorithms for fast and quiet auto focusing, this lens offers new levels of performance.
New Canon Hybrid IS world’s first image stabilizer to compensate for two types of camera shake
Canon’s Hybrid IS technology compensates for both angle and shift camera shake. Sudden changes in camera angle can significantly alter images taken during standard shooting. Shift-based shaking occurs when a camera moves parallel to the imaging scene and is more pronounced in macro photography and other close-range shooting.
The new Hybrid IS technology incorporates an angular velocity sensor that detects the extent of angle-based shaking, as well as a new acceleration sensor that determines the amount of shift-based camera shake. This new technology will be featured in interchangeable single lens reflex (SLR) camera lenses planned for commercial release before the end of 2009.
