ECNZ Certification
The New Zealand Ecolabelling Trust is a voluntary, multiple specifications based environmental labelling programme, which operates to international standards and principles.
Initiated and endorsed by the New Zealand Government, Environmental Choice recognises the genuine moves made by manufacturers to reduce the environmental impacts of their products and provides a credible and independent guide for consumers who want to purchase products that are better for the environment.
Last year Environmental Choice was cited in a UK government study as one of the world’s top three eco marks because of the integrity and quality of its environmental product assessments.
Canon has been signed up to the Enviro Choice Certification label for the last 2 years and so far it has been a great success.
Energy Star
ENERGY STAR is the global mark of energy efficiency awarded to the top 25% most energy efficient products in specific product categories. It’s a totally independent mark that the world’s leading manufacturers strive to achieve.
Canon’s involvement as an ENERGY STAR partner:
In New Zealand, Canon has partnered with the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) to promote Canon’s ENERGY STAR qualified products. As an ENERGY STAR partner, and one of the leading producers of energy-efficient equipment, Canon has qualified more than 400 of its products since the program began and is proud to offer you copiers, printers, scanners, and multifunction devices that help protect the environment, without compromising features or performance.
At the forefront of the office equipment and consumer imaging industries, Canon has developed original and advanced energy efficient technologies, and it has introduced more than 400 products that incorporate these technologies. Canon was several times awarded as Energy Star Partner of the year. Products that meet energy efficiency standards bear the ENERGY STAR logo.
